Engineering Verification
Engsolve offers engineering verification at all phases of a project, from initial design, through planning and installation right through to commissioning and start-up. We adopt a logical and value-added approach using good engineering practices applied to specific codes and standards, to provide a full and complete service from verification of the original design, criticality assessments, review of calculations and specifications through to process verification during start up.

Optimisation

Process Efficiency
Chemical or industrial plants must now use as little energy as is practicable. Rising energy prices emphasise the need to attain the highest levels of energy efficiency and thus achieve sustainable industrial activity.

Operational Troubleshooting
Troubleshooting of refineries,  chemical and industrial plants is required to restore or improve on-line time and production capacity, achieve specification of product, by-products and waste streams, reduce safety hazards, improve yields, reduce consumption of utilities, auxiliary chemicals and catalysts, and meet environmental standards.

De-bottle Necking
Continuous process improvement is a critical element in maintaining competitiveness of the process industries. An important category of process improvement is process debottlenecking. Engsolve will look at the overall process and consider the debottlenecking task as a process integration task which links all the design and operating degrees of freedom and exploits synergies among the units and streams to attain maximum debottlenecking.

Project Controls

Cost Estimating
We understand the complex nature and types of industrial and engineering projects and the extent to which the various elements can impact on each other both in terms of cost and time. We appreciate the current challenges facing industrial companies, particularly those posted by emerging markets and environmental issues.

Cost Management and Reporting
Our understanding of the fundamentals of project cost control allow us to establish and maintain a rigorous process of estimation, agreement and approval of costs throughout a project.  Regular review of the project status combined with a process of advance warnings allow the generation of detailed and informative project reports.

Through the use of work breakdown structures or standardised codes of account each project can be split into the main heads of cost.  We also recognise that organisations may hold their own accounting structure and as such we are able to tailor our cost reporting procedures to report against pre-defined accounting codes.

Using our Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors Chartered staff, we are also able to offer the full compliment of Quantity Surveying and Employer’s Agent services including the valuation and certification of interim payments along with all other pre- and post-contract activities.

Project Scheduling
With an in depth-understanding of the design and construction process we are well placed to offer project scheduling services.  Using tried and tested scheduling methods we are able to generate, maintain and report against project performance in terms of resources and cost using a structured work breakdown structure tailored to suit the needs of each project.

Contract Management

Contract Strategy
Experienced in a number of common forms of contract, Engsolve have the requisite skills to advise on the optimum form of contract for a project.  An understanding of the client’s need to balance the apportionment of risk whilst still achieving the desired priorities of time, cost and quality.

As experienced designers have we experience of fulfilling design team roles under a variety of contracts.  As project managers we are capable of administering projects in accordance with a variety of forms of contract.

Procurement
The process of specifying and purchasing equipment can be managed through the structured preparation of comprehensive invitation to tender documents aligned to the contractual terms and conditions established by client organisations.  Engsolve are experienced in working with vendors and suppliers to purchase the requisite equipment for a variety of projects.

Complying with project authority for expenditure levels as well as recognising the need for a transparent and auditable process Ensgolve are able to manage the ITT process including compiling ITT documentation, vendor liaison, control of the bid process and to provide the necessary expertise to facilitate the factory acceptance testing of various components.

Health & Safety

CDM Co-ordination
Engsolve are able to provide CDM co-ordinators who have accumulated industry specific  expertise to offer an efficient CDM co-ordinator service through established company procedures for the integration of health and safety into the project management process for improved planning from the project inception to ensure client side compliance with the requirements of the CDM Regulations;

DSEAR Review
Utilising our knowledge electrical and mechanical engineering and engineering design Engsolve is able to bring practical experience to DSEAR and ATEX assessments. Engsolve’s experience, which includes mechanical, electronic, fluid flow, explosion analysis and safety case development in a wide range of regulatory environments allows us to provide a comprehensive and integrated service to industrial and energy clients.

The range of services covers the complete requirements of DSEAR and ATEX assessments. Examples include:
Site inspections
Development of H&S guidelines for companies working with explosive atmospheres.
Review of suitability of electrical and mechanical equipment within hazardous areas.
Development of equipment asset registers to allow employers to control equipment within hazardous areas
Analysis of explosive atmosphere radii in accordance with industry guidance.

HAZOP / HAZID
Engsolve’s experienced engineers are able to assist you in HAZOP and HAZID sessions, and can provide a high quality service tailored to meet the specific needs of your project or plant.
We can also provide advice on selection and application of appropriate techniques by using experienced engineers to carry independent HAZID and HAZOP as session leaders and technical secretaries.

We also provide support staff to plan, organise and co-ordinate HAZOP sessions and record HAZOP session progress and prepare reports and auditing of implementation of HAZOP recommendations.
